Ready for it to cool down a bit!

How is every one doing?  For my American blog friends, how are you all coping in this continuing hot weather.  We can not see an end to it anytime soon in the forecast.  For my English blog friend I believe you have finally cooled off a bit and had some rain.  For my Canadian blog friends, I hope your weather has cooled off a bit.

I am longing for some outside time, too much time spent indoors in the air conditioning.  We have not had much rain lately although earlier in the year we got plenty.  The grass is browning off and has gone dormant.  If it cools down and rains some more later this month it will have it's last growing spurt of the year and hopefully lay down some seeds.  I need to get out and cut down some of the sapling trees that have sprung up everywhere but I need it to be cooler before I do that.

My husband had his lead-less pacemaker inserted last week and he seems to be doing well.  At least his pulse isn't dropping into the 40's anymore.

I have been watching 'The other Bennet sister' and am enjoying it immensely so far.  I hope the ending is not going to be disappointing.

The last thing I bought with my birthday money was a keyboard tray for my desk.  My desk is quite small so the keyboard and mouse pad took up a lot of useful space on it.  Now I can do my accounting ledger without having to shuffle a lot of things around to make room for it.

I have made several things in the Instant Pot.  I am finding it very useful.  I even made some lemon curd, which my Mum used to make and it is every bit as good as hers I am happy to say.  The dry rub ribs I did in it were not as drop off the bone as they usually are if I cook them in the oven but, in this hot weather it is not good to have the oven on for hours on end.  Next time I cook them in the pot I will increase the pressure time.  They tasted great though.

I need some motivation to make something.  I have bought some fabric to make cushion covers for our sofa but can't drum up the enthusiasm to make them yet. The covers should match the rug in the living room and will look really nice when I do them.  The ones I have on now do not match each other or the rug so why am I procrastinating? It doesn't need the cushions, we just put them on to try and keep the sofa in new condition as we only bought it last year and, it works really well for us with the recliner and adjustable head rests and it is tall so easy to in and out of.

This is the fabric, maybe now I will be inspired to make them as I have put it out into the world lol.

Not a very interesting post I am afraid but, it was time to put something up.

I hope all is going well in your worlds.....
